(AHN) Blumenherst Leads Upsets In LPGA Sybase Match Play

Gladstone, NJ, United States (AHN) – LPGA tour rookie Amanda Blumenherst has an incredible golf pedigree. She was a three-time National Player of the Year at Duke University, ACC Player of the Year, ACC Rookie of the Year, 2008 winner of the women’s U.S. Amateur title.

The golf world has been waiting for her enormous potential to kick into gear in the women’s professional ranks. It did Friday in the second round of the LPGA’s Sybase Match Play Championships and it was an unfortunate thing for Hall of Famer Karrie Webb.

Blumenherst dominated Webb from the start of their match and closed it out after only 12 holes to register a 7-and-6 victory over the seven-time major winner from Australia.
